A Family Affair
Updated: May 14, 2018
On April Twenty Third of this year Two Thousand Sixteen two families and countless friends joined together to celebrate the union of Mr. Uriah Waller and Ms. Dinah Powers. We were so happy to be a part of their special day in McCall, ID. We wouldn't have missed it for the world!
We came up from Las Vegas on a road trip with the family to be able to make the flowers for the wedding day and reception. Below are a few photos from the trip which took us up the eastern side of Nevada, through Twin Falls, ID and all the way to the shores of Payette Lake.
Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.... Yep, snow in Nevada in April! It's 734 miles from Las Vegas to McCall and we ran into almost every change in weather spring has to offer along the way. Destination wedding here we come!
The family all got to spend some time in Idaho. From Boise where our wholesaler flew our product in to Caldwell and of course the lovely little town of McCall. It really was a great road trip and we got to share it with some of the people we love the most!
The preparations went into the wee hours of the night and was truly a family affair!
All the planning and months of waiting had come down to this one night. It was so worth the wait. All hands were on deck and we were happy to have all the help! Being over 730 miles away from the shop we gained even more insight on how complex a destination wedding can be! There were the ostrich feather centerpieces, the babies breath balls, the pink and green arrangements all done to create layers of design for the tablescapes. The design for the reception also had elements of wood, metal and glass that paired well with the vintage style of the wedding.
The ceremony was held at the beautiful Mountain Life Church. They were gracious hosts and the setting is perfect for a rustic or vintage wedding. We incorporated hanging ameranthus and kale blooms to give the altar a dramatic feel. The color scheme is classic and romantic, the best combination for a ceremony. We lined each side of the aisle with ivory and champagne rose petals, the flower girls had pink petals to toss before the bride walked down the aisle.
The five bridesmaid bouquets were made to compliment the bridal bouquet. The color palette consisted of blush pinks, ivory, and champagne all balanced with pale greens and silvery greys. All the bouquets included hydrangea, standard roses and stock flower. The bridal bouquet also featured freesia, dahlias and garden roses with an accent of dusty miller. We loved that all the bridesmaids wore different colors of grey and each had her own style dress! Dinah's dress from Boise's Best Bridal was stunning!
The reception was held at the charming and rustic Hunt Lodge. The hotel staff were a pleasure to work with and the rooms were comfortably appointed. If you are headed to McCall, Idaho make your reservations here, you won't be disappointed.
Uriah and Dinah clearly put a lot of time and effort into all the details for their special day. It was also easy to see that they kept their guests in mind while planning their destination wedding weekend. The little touches added so much personality to the day, from the letters, signage and the photos to the type of food and drink served. It was truly a night to remember!
On this day a Daughter took the hand of a Son, adding another ring to the perfect circle of our family. We are proud to welcome the newest Mr. & Mrs. Waller, we love you both to the Moon and back!
